Readyline Mayday is a practice tool. It exists to build familiarity and repetition with mayday radio procedure — nothing more.

1. Never use this app during a real emergency

In an actual mayday situation, use your portable radio and follow your department's procedures. Never take out a phone, and never rely on this app, on any fireground or emergency scene. This app has no connection to any radio system, dispatch center, or emergency service and cannot summon help of any kind.

2. Your department's procedures govern — always

Departments differ in their mayday procedures, radio formats, and designated mnemonics (LUNAR, UCAN, Who-What-Where, or others). The content in this app is generic, national-level doctrine for practice purposes. If anything in this app differs from your department's standard operating procedures or training, your department is right and this app is wrong. Configure the app to match your department's format, and train to your department's standard.

3. This app does not replace real training

Repetition on a phone builds verbal familiarity only. It is not a substitute for:

Hands-on firefighter survival, self-rescue, and rapid intervention training
Live radio drills conducted by your department
SCBA emergency procedures and PASS device familiarization under realistic conditions
Your department's mayday policy, drills, and instructor-led programs

Use this app alongside real training, never instead of it.

4. No guarantee of any outcome

Practicing with this app does not guarantee performance under real fireground stress, and no representation is made that use of this app will improve safety or survival outcomes. A real mayday is a chaotic, life-threatening event that no phone application can prepare you for on its own.

5. Scenarios are fictional

All scenarios are invented for training. They do not depict real incidents, real departments, or real people, and they are not tactical guidance. They exist only to give you something to respond to.

6. Your voice stays on this device

The microphone is used only while you are actively recording a rep, and only with your permission. Recordings are held in memory for immediate playback and are discarded when you leave the screen — they are never saved, stored, or transmitted anywhere. No accounts, no uploads, no analytics. Practice history (times and scenario names only — never audio) is stored on this device and can be erased at any time in More.

7. Who this is for

This app is intended for fire service and emergency services professionals and trainees, 18 or older. It is not intended for the general public and does not provide emergency instructions of any kind.

8. Independence

Readyline Response Solutions LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any fire department, government agency, or standards body. References to common fire service practice imply no endorsement.

Why this exists

Studies of line-of-duty deaths keep finding the same thing: firefighters wait too long to declare. They try to fix it themselves, they worry about embarrassment, they don't want to disrupt the operation. The fix is muscle memory — saying the words enough times that under stress, they say themselves. That is the entire purpose of this app.
